  • 1/2 cup onion (diced)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 1/2 pounds ground beef (very lean)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can fire roasted tomatoes (diced)
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can tomatoes (diced)
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles

Instructions

  1. Gather and prepare all ingredients.
  2. Heat olive oil in an Instant Pot or large pot over medium heat.
  3. Sauté diced onion until translucent; add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef, breaking it apart while cooking until browned; drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir in chili powder, sea salt, black pepper, and cumin until well coated.
  6. Add fire roasted tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, green chiles, and beef broth.
  7. If using an Instant Pot, seal the lid and cook on high pressure for 15 minutes; allow natural release. If using stovetop, bring to boil then simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
