  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 3/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1 green hot chili pepper (finely chopped)
  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions thinly using a sharp knife or mandoline and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, cumin, salt, turmeric, water, lime juice, and chili pepper; whisk until you achieve a medium-thick batter.
  3. Fold in the sliced onions until well-coated.
  4. Heat coconut oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil, frying about four fritters at a time for 2–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
